Concord joined six other New Hampshire “Cool Cities” on Feb. 22 when the Sierra Club celebrated Mayor Jim Bouley’s commitment to reduce the city's global warming pollution by putting into place local energy solutions that save taxpayer dollars and reduce energy use.
Sierra Club’s Cool City campaign recognizes communities that are taking action with innovative energy solutions to help solve global warming and create healthier cities. Concord has implemented global warming solutions, including placing no idling signs around the city and planning to add a hybrid car to the city fleet.
Mayor Bouley has also signed on to the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement, joining more than 790 other mayors nationwide in all 50 states, Washington DC, and Puerto Rico. Concord is the seventh “Cool City” in New Hampshire, which also include Dover, Hanover, Keene, Manchester, Nashua, and Portsmouth. To find out more about Cool Cities, go to
